Grid–Following DVI–Based Converter Operating in Weak Grids for Enhancing Frequency Stability

چکیده

Inertia requirement is the paramount challenge in future power systems with a significant share of renewable energy generators. A promising solution to this issue applying Distributed Virtual (DVI) concept, i.e. releasing preserved DC–link capacitors employed converters grid following frequency disturbance. Nonetheless, small–signal stability analyses affirm that local mode associated control system prone become unstable when grid–interactive converter augmented DVI operates weak grids. To overcome problem, an efficient compensator proposed paper. This introduces one degree–of–freedom direct–axis current controller synchronous reference frame, which eliminates adverse impact function on stability. Finally, efficacy framework depicted by simulations MATLAB. The results illustrate rate change step–up load improved 30% compared case loop nullified.

Experimental Stability Assessment of Converter-Dominated Electrical Grids

With the increased deployment of renewable energy devices into power systems, more converters controlled by the standard D-Q axis Current Injection (DQCI) theory have been connected to the grid, displacing synchronous generators in the process. Due to the nature of the DQCl strategy, these converters cannot impose a reference voltage and frequency. A study in the simulation environment has been...

Institutional Requirements for Enhancing Financial Stability in Iran

The conditions in which the financial system can continuously provide the necessary services for the proper functioning of the economy is called “financial stability”. In this study, using global experience and Iranian data from 1990 to 2016, an aggregate index of financial stability for Iran has been constructed under the four dimensions of "deposit taker institutions", "macroeconomics", "for...

Stabilizing the Operating Frequency of a Resonant Converter for Wireless Power Transfer to Implantable Biomedical Sensors

Resonant converters have been applied in wireless power supplies for implantable sensors due to their inherent advantages of low cost, high frequency and high reliability. However, the operating frequency of the resonant converter varies with the load and circuit parameters changes, which can significantly reduce the maximum power that the system can transfer. As a result the implanted sensors ...

Electrolyzers Enhancing Flexibility in Electric Grids

This paper presents a real-time simulation with a hardware-in-the-loop (HIL)-based approach for verifying the performance of electrolyzer systems in providing grid support. Hydrogen refueling stations may use electrolyzer systems to generate hydrogen and are proposed to have the potential of becoming smarter loads that can proactively provide grid services. On the basis of experimental findings...

Decentralized Frequency Restoration in Islanded Converter Base Microgrid

Variation of frequency and voltage by load changes in a microgrid is a challenge in droop control method. Centralized restoration frequency or voltage in a microgrid requires communication link and therefore affects the advantage of decentralized droop control such as reliability, simplicity and inexpensiveness. This paper proposes a decentralized method that restores the frequency of a microgr...
